We Hunt!

We Hunt! We had such a fun weekend! All of us Durrant kids (plus the spouses) put in as a group this year for the deer hunt! Yes and we all got tags! Yeah! Brady and I got into camp at three in the morning!! Yes 3am! 10 minutes later everyone was getting up to hike up the mountain! We just couldn't do it! We were so tired! Although we should have we really didn't sleep! When we did roll out of the truck/bed there were a million hunters and trucks! Since I have already killed a deer and I wasn't dead set on getting one (Brady will get one and I don't want two in the freezer), so we decided to stick around camp! Barry was up with us, so Shari wouldn't be alone while we were all out! She is such a trooper 8months prego and she came across the worse stretch of road in utah to get to our camp! Great Wife! You go girl! Barry cook breakfast for us, yummy!! The four of us had a great time!

We had a spotting scope so we pretty much watched everyone hike up the mountain! Just as I was feeling bad about not going with everyone, because I love to hike. We got a call that Trent shot a deer and Caroline! Woo hoo! Brandon and Pheonix were at the top of the mountain at the snow line still hunting and the others were there too, but they had to drag the deer out! Barry hiked up and helped Caroline and Blaine, while Brady and I went up to help Trent! And we left poor Shar to defend herself. What a hike! Loved it! Beautiful! I wish I took my camera! By the time we got up there we were not about to drag it back down through the thick brush! So we cut the deer up and strapped it to us! Yes I helped! I carried the head!!! Which really didn't bother me at all, I don't mind blood or that stuff, I was just worried about the ticks! Gross! Really it was a sight to see!

All in all it was a good hunt almost half of us got what we came for! And the little boys at home with Grandma were excited to hear " Deer down, deer down!" They are the cutest! It was a great weekend everyone! Good Job!!
